ONTARIO - A 35-year old Ajax man faces charges of racing and failing to stop for police after an officer allegedly tried to pull over a speeding motorcycle on Saturday.
The officer observed a group of motorcyclists heading northbound at about 11:30 a. m. on Highway 35 near Fleetwood Road and registered one of motorcyclists to be speeding, said City of Kawartha Lakes OPP in a release.
When the officer tried to pull the rider over, he sped off, police said.
After getting recording the licence plate, a broadcast was sent to other officers and the bike was later found in Bobcaygeon where the driver was arrested.
Michael Cossar was charged and had his motorcycle seized and driver's licence suspended for seven days. He is to attend Lindsay court on August 8.
