BRITISH COLUMBIA - Sanjeeve Sharma's father said his son never should not have accepted a ride home from the gym with two other teens on Monday evening.
The 15-year-old teen was a passenger in a Chevrolet Malibu which clipped another car before crashing into a lamp post on 128th Street near 82nd Avenue in Surrey.
The driver and other passenger were taken to hospital with minor injuries, but Sharma died after being taken to the hospital.

Alcohol and speed were possible factors in the crash, the Surrey RCMP said in a press release.
"He did not take the safe ride home last night," said Sanjeeve's father, Sanjay Sharma.
"My son made a very poor judgment, unfortunately. We've all made the same poor judgment at one point in our lives."
Sanjay Sharma said his son was like every other teenage kid. He was looking forward to his last two years of high school, had a steady girlfriend and was a talented hockey player.
"He had one of the most deceiving shots I've ever seen," said Jordon Badari, Sharma's hockey coach. "He was a great kid. He made friends on every team he was on."
A funeral service will be held on Friday afternoon at Riverside Funeral Home in Delta. Police are asking anyone who witnessed the crash to call Const. Glen Croutch at 604-599-0502.
