CHRONICLE HERALD
NOVA SCOTIA - Two people remained in hospital Saturday following a head-on motorcycle crash that killed a Lunenburg County man Friday evening.
The accident happened at 8:15 p.m. on Highway 325 in Oak Hill, just outside Bridgewater. Lunenburg County RCMP say a preliminary investigation shows a motorcycle travelling northeast crossed the centre line and hit a motorcycle travelling in the opposite direction.
The driver of the motorcycle that crossed the road, a Lunenburg County man in his 50s, was pronounced dead at South Shore Regional Hospital in Bridgewater. The male driver of the other motorcycle was transferred to the Queen Elizabeth II Health Sciences Centre in Halifax and his female passenger was admitted to hospital in Bridgewater. They are also from Lunenburg County and in their 50s.
Police collision reconstruction experts say speed does not appear to have been a factor in the crash. Const. Colin Helm said police do not know why one of the motorcycles crossed the centre line but police continue to investigate.
