Update: Cyclist killed in Cambridge identified as Shane Vandermeer, 20

ONTARIO -
Provincial police have identified a Cambridge man who was killed when his bicycle collided with a car in Cambridge.

They say Shane Vandermeer, 20, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say he was riding south on Franklin Boulevard at the Highway 401 eastbound off-ramp when his bicycle collided with a car that had left the highway on Wednesday night.

Police are still looking for any witnesses to the crash.

Unidentified cyclist killed in Cambridge crash

ONTARIO -
Cambridge OPP are asking for help in identifying a cyclist who was struck and killed in Cambridge overnight.

The crash happened just before midnight Wednesday on the Eastbound 401 ramp to Franklin Boulevard.

OPP Sgt. Graham Williamson said the cyclist was heading south on Franklin when he was hit by a vehicle that was getting off the highway.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Williamson said they need help identifying the victim who is about 30 to 40-years-old.

The driver of the vehicle was at the scene when police arrived. No charges have been laid.
