Snowy conditions and inexperience might have played a part, police say

All of them were between the ages of 18 and 25 years old. A 15-year-old girl was injured in one of the incidents.

Snowy conditions combined with inexperience might have played a part in the deaths, police said.

So far, alcohol doesn't seem to have been a factor in the four (crashes) police are investigating, Sgt. Martine Isabelle of the Quebec provincial police said.

In one of the incidents, a 25-year-old man was crushed to death by his vehicle Sunday morning after it hit several lampposts in Quebec City.

The man wasn't wearing his seatbelt, Isabelle said.

On Saturday night, a man in his 20s and an 18-year-old woman died in a head-on collision near Ste. Mélanie in the Lanaudière region, northeast of Montreal.

Another collision happened Friday evening in Laval when a 17-year-old driver lost control of his car and hit a tree.

An 18-year-old woman who was in the vehicle's backseat died in the crash. She wasn't wearing a seatbelt, police said. (... starting to see a common thread here, don't you think? - staff)
