QUEBEC - Two cousins were killed in a head-on collision between two cars in Beauharnois, southwest of Montreal Island, early Saturday.
Yann De Courcy, 22, and Alexandre De Courcy-Laplante, 18, were killed when the car they were in was hit on Edgar Hébert Blvd. near 8th Ave. about 3 a.m., Châteauguay police Constable Nadia Grondin said. The other driver and the other passenger in De Courcy’s car, both males in their early 20s, were in serious condition in a hospital Saturday.

De Courcy was driving a white car heading east, with two passengers including his cousin in the back seat, when a black car going west ended up crossing over and crashing full-speed into the white car, Grondin said.
The road was slick with rain at the time and alcohol may also have been a factor. Grondin did not if the occupants of the cars were wearing their safety belts at the time of the impact. She said a collsion investigator with the Sûreté du Québec was looking into that. First responders used the Jaws of Life to extract the surviving passenger from the white vehicle, she noted.
The driver of the black car could face impaired driving charges, Grondin said.
Grondin was not sure if doctors at the hospital where the surviving driver was taken tested his blood-alcohol level within the three-hour time frame required by law so the test results to lead to impaired driving charges, she said.
The man was not given a Breathalyzer test at the scene because he was not conscious, she added. The law requires consent for that test.

Nice cop out...if he was conscious...they use the excuse of needing multiple reasons for a drug / alcohol test. Simply a deadly collision isn't enough to arouse legal suspician.
Rip Alex & Yann.
You'll be missed for a long time to come.
