ONTARIO - One of two women appeared in court today facing numerous charges after an alleged Sunday afternoon straight out of the movie Thelma and Louise.
Dyanna Bowman, 26, of Brampton, appeared disheveled during her brief appearance.
Her co accused,
Alicia Campbell, 28, and also from Brampton was not in court and police confirm she remains in hospital.
Both are expected in court at 9:30 a.m. tomorrow for a bail hearing.
Wearing the same black slacks, white t-shirt and blue jacket she was arrested in, Bowman glanced around the court but did not see anyone there to support her.
Earlier, a man describing himself as her husband was outside court but left prior to her appearance.
Bowman is charged with three counts of theft under $5000, possession of stolen property over $5000, robbery, theft over $5000, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing bodily harm, fail to stop at the scene of a collision, two counts of failing to comply with recognizance and possession of a controlled substance.
When the court clerk asked if she heard the charges, Bowman nodded and said, "Yes, ma'am."

Female bandits tackled in Oakville after theft, carjacking
ONTARIO - Police arrested two women who they say stole from an Oakville grocery store before assaulting a woman, stealing her car and leading police on a chase.
Police say the two were seen shoplifting at the Metro store at Eighth Line and Upper Middle Road East in Oakville around 10:30 a.m. yesterday. The pair then fled in a stolen car to Burlington and assaulted a woman at the Petro Canada station at Guelph Line and New Street, stealing her car.
Police spotted the pair and began chasing them into Oakville where they say the two abandoned the car at
Ford Drive and Royal Windsor Drive and fled on foot.
They were arrested around 11:30 a.m. and face several charges including theft under $5,000, theft over $5,000, possession of property obtained by crime, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and flight from police.
