Pair thrown from car in QEW crash

ONTARIO -
Two Hamilton men remain in critical condition after they were ejected from their car on the QEW early Sunday.

The two were taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries after being thrown from their car when it hit a streetlight pole just after 3 a.m. Sunday morning off the QEW.

Police say the men, who were 21 and 22 years old, were riding in a silver Acura westbound on the QEW west of Fifty Road, when the car slid sideways into the right-hand ditch of the highway, then into a pole on North Service Road. The crash was described as a single-vehicle collision. The men were taken to Hamilton General Hospital.

“The collision resulted in the ejection of both occupants of the Acura,” said a news release from the OPP. “Police are investigating speed as a contributing factor to the collision.”

Westbound traffic on the highway was diverted at Fifty Rod for several hours while police investigated from the OPP’s Burlington detachment. Police say that anyone with any information about the crash should contact the OPP at 905-681-2511 or at 1-888-310-1122.

I find the poll under this article really inappropriate and offensive. I am very close to the two who were in this accident and I think you should take this poll down in respect to the family and friends. Thanks.

The poll, which has been up for the past 24 days, has never been, never will be and never was part of this story.

Landing here from a Google search means if you spent more time on the site than just on this page, you would notice the poll is part of the interface and appears no matter what page you click.

It's not in reference to this collision and never was.

In six days, it will be a new poll with a topic that will be completely unrelated to the story, just like this one is.
