How distracted do you have to be not to see a big green train in front of you?

ONTARIO -
A man is lucky to be alive after his SUV struck a train downtown Friday morning.

The vehicle ran into the side of a GO train just before 7am at Strachan Avenue and Wellington. The car collided with the Union Station-bound train, causing service delays along the busy rail route.

The driver was shaken, but didn’t sustain any injuries. A GO official has said the safety barrier was down and lights were flashing when the collision happened.

The collision caused serious backups along the downtown rail corridor. GO had to hold several trains and make some cancellations on several lines, including Barrie-Bradford, Lakeshore East, Milton, and Georgetown.

I'm editing this story. His SUV was innocent of any wrong-doing.

The lead should read, "A man is lucky to be alive after he drove his SUV into a commuter train downtown Friday morning".
