Update: Victims of Kaladar Hwy 7 crash identified as Michael Garland, 33, and Peter Clark, 55

ONTARIO -
Provincial police say two drivers died and a nine-year-old girl was critically injured in a two-vehicle crash last night on Highway 7 near Kaladar.

Michael Garland, 33, of Drummond North Elmsley Township and Peter Clark, 55, of Clyde, Ohio, were killed in the collision just after 8 p.m. about seven kilometres west of Kaladar, in Addington Highlands Township.

Police say Garland was driving a Jeep Cherokee heading east that collided with a westbound Chev Blazer driven by Clark. A nine-year-old girl was pried from the wrecked Cherokee and was taken to Belleville General Hospital. She is in critical condition. Another person in the Cherokee, a 32-year-old man from London, Ont., was admitted to Belleville General Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The drivers were pronounced dead at the scene. Post mortems are being conducted today.

It was raining and the road was wet at the time, police said. The road was closed for roughly six hours. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.

Kaladar crash kills 2

ONTARIO -
Two people have been killed in a two-vehicle crash near Kaladar, Ont., northwest of Kingston.

Provincial police say the collision occurred on Highway 7 just west of the community shortly after 8 p.m. on Thursday.

An emergency services worker says two people in separate SUVs were pronounced dead at the scene.

Two other people reportedly suffered serious injuries, although police have not yet commented on fatalities or injuries.

Traffic was detoured around the crash site for about six hours.
