Man dead after pileup on Crowchild Trail

ALBERTA - Calgary police have released details on Tuesday afternoon's horrendous crash on Southbound Crowchild Trail.

Traffic investigators say a Chevy car, operated by a 53 year old man crashed into a Ford truck, which then crashed into a Honda SUV.

The driver of the car was unresponsive when crews arrived and later pronounced dead at hospital.

Police believe the man had a medical condition which caused the crash.

The other drivers and a passenger escaped with minor injuries. The roadway was closed for several hours as police investigated.
