Peel Regional Police seek crash witnesses

ONTARIO - Police Regional Police are looking for witnesses following a two-car crash on Saturday that sent a 52-year-old woman to hospital with critical injuries.

The collision happened just after 9 p.m.

Police say a westbound 2004 black Volvo SUV struck a 1994 black Volkswagen Jetta as it was turning left from Confederation Pkwy. onto The Queensway.

The driver of the Volvo, a 34-year-old Mississauga man, was not injured. His 34-year-old wife and their two sons, ages 3 and 10, sustained minor injuries but were not taken to hospital.

The driver of the Volkswagen, a 52-year-old Toronto woman, was transported to a Toronto hospital with life-threatening injuries, where she remains in critical condition. The Volkswagen passengers, two Toronto women ages 53 and 74, were taken to hospital with minor injuries.

No charges have been laid at this time. Police say alcohol was not a factor.
