ONTARIO -
Three youths are facing several charges after a high-speed chase in which Greater Sudbury Police Service assisted Sudbury Ontario Provincial Police.

Friday at 2:38 a.m., police spotted a vehicle travelling more than 150 km/hr on Highway 17 East, westbound into the city.

The OPP discontinued attempts to stop the vehicle they say was posing danger to its occupants and other drivers on the road.

The vehicle was located a short time later in a ditch near the Husky Gas Bar on Highway 17 East. The occupants had into the bush. A canine track was conducted by Greater Sudbury Police's K-9 Unit and three male youths were taken into custody after fleeing through a swamp.

The vehicle involved was stolen from a New Sudbury residence earlier in the evening, say police.

The three males, aged 14, 15 and 17, were taken into police custody pending a bail hearing. They are facing charges including flight from police, theft over $5,000, possession of stolen property and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle.

Two of the youths are also facing charges of breaching court orders for their alleged behaviors.
