BRITISH COLUMBIA - Vernon RCMP have released the names of a woman and her great grandson killed in a Friday night two-vehicle collision on Highway 97.
Dorothy Thalhofer, 69, who was also recently known as
Dorothy Fehr, of Vernon, and
Eric Rand, 10, from the Enderby area, were killed when their vehicle crossed the centre line on the Highway 97 overpass and struck a pickup truck.
Police suspect road conditions, said to be slippery at the time, may have played a factor in the crash.
Thalhofer's vehicle was equipped with good winter tires, and both were wearing their seatbelts.
