Fatal Single Vehicle Collision near Oceanside B.C.

BRITISH COLUMBIA - During the early morning hours of December 10th, 2009 the Oceanside RCMP were called to a single motor vehicle incident on Hwy 19, south of the Qualicum Beach exit. The Provincial Ambulance Service and the Qualicum Beach Fire Department assisted the RCMP.

Upon arrival of emergency services, a single vehicle was found to be fully engulfed in flames, the only occupant of the vehicle had been ejected. The 70 year old Bowser man was pronounced dead on the scene. The identity of the driver is being withheld pending notification of family.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation by Oceanside RCMP and the local RCMP Traffic Analyst. Anyone with information on this incident is asked to contact the Oceanside RCMP at 250-248-6111
