A 55-year-old New Tecumseth man is dead after being struck by a vehicle early this morning while crossing the road in front of his home to help a driver stuck in a ditch.

Around 6:15 a.m., Nottawasaga OPP, Simcoe County Paramedics and the Town of New Tecumseth Fire Department were dispatched to the scene of a collision involving a motor vehicle and pedestrian on County Road 10, south of Alliston.

This is so sad.
Have you heard of any accidents in Muskoka? My roof has 60 cm of snow, a total from only one week...
They closed highway #11 between Gravenhurst and Washago, snow plows in the ditch. We had rain then snow then snow, and snow.

I haven't heard of any other serious incidents as yet in Muskoka, Jenn ... let's keep our fingers crossed it stays that way.

This here is a terrible tragedy, my heart goes out to Stephen's family & friends, I am so very sorry for your loss.
