Man critical after car crash near Matagami QC

Source: Montreal Gazette

QUEBEC -
A man in his 40s was in critical condition in a hospital after a two-car collision on Route de la Baie James, north of the town of Matagami, about 700 kilometres north of Montreal. Sûreté du Québec Sgt. Claude Denis said there were two pickups involved in the crash that occurred about 1 p.m. on Saturday.

The driver of the first pickup was in physical distress because of a medical condition, causing him to veer into the oncoming traffic lane, as the road curved. The pickup hit a car in tow by a pickup driving in the opposite direction. The driver of the first truck was transported to the Matagami hospital, where his life was said to be in danger. There were no other serious injuries.
