Man killed in Montérégie crash

Source: LCN

QUEBEC -
A 51-year-old man from Saint-Anicet, Montérégie, was killed Wednesday night after losing control of his vehicle, likely due to excess speed.

The crash occurred around 1 am Wednesday morning on a rural road near Godmanchester. The victim's vehicle left the road and slammed into a Hydro-Quebec power pole. Then, after rolling several times, the vehicle hit a second utility pole. The man was ejected from the vehicle. He was transported to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The Surete du Quebec believes that the victim was not wearing a seatbelt and that speed too fast for the road conditions is a factor in this case.
