Source: Montreal Gazette

QUEBEC -
One person died, and another was in serious condition in a hospital after two cars collided about 7:35 p.m. on Saturday in St. Rémi, about 40 kilometres south of Montreal. The collision happened at the intersection of Rte. 221 and St. Paul St.

The driver of the car on St. Paul St., a man in his 60s, was in serious condition, while his passenger, a woman in her 60s, was declared dead in a hospital. The driver and passenger of the car heading down Rte. 221, suffered minor injuries.

Police said it’s too soon to say if speed was a factor in the crash. There is a stop sign on St. Paul St., but Sûreté du Québec Sgt. Claude Denis said he didn’t know whether the car stopped before entering the intersection.
