Update: Teenager dies in hospital after St. Gabriel de Brandon car crash

Source: Montreal Gazette

QUEBEC -
An 18-year-old woman died in a hospital Monday night after the car she was riding in flipped over about 8:20 p.m. on Route 347 in St. Gabriel de Brandon, in the Lanaudière region, about 100 kilometres northeast of Montreal.

The woman was in the passenger seat of a car driven by an 18-year-old man. The driver made an illegal manoeuvre to pass a car on the two-lane road, Sûreté du Québec Sgt. Marc Butz said. He lost control of the car, and it turned over several times before ending up in a ditch.

The man was also hurt, but his injuries were not considered to be life-threatening. Butz said it’s too soon to say if any criminal charges will be laid.

Criminal charges?

Pfft. All he has to do is tell the police he didn't realize he had a passenger. No one's at fault in Quebec.

This months poll: Do you believe elderly drivers (70+) are impaired by aging and should be subjected to annual road tests?
