ONTARIO -
A 19-year-old Amherstburg man appeared in Windsor court Thursday in connection with a snowmobile crash last month that killed a teen mom.

Trevor Skeates was arraigned on a charge of impaired driving causing death for a Jan. 10 crash on a field between Pike Road and Alma Street near Concession 9 South.

Police say speed and alcohol were factors in the crash.

Skeates had originally been charged with impaired driving causing bodily harm. He had been free on a promise to appear in court. Friday, he was arrested on the upgraded charge and brought to court to be arraigned. He was released on a recognizance and is to return to court March 4.
